The Ideal Series honors the masterpieces of well - known equine artist Orren Mixer and his famous 'ideal' horse breed paintings. Throughout Mixer's career, seven horse breed associations asked him to paint the ideal of their breeds. These paintings have firmly established Mixer as one of the greatest equine artists in history.

In 2002, to mark the 40th anniversary of the American Paint Horse Association, they commissioned Mixer to create a new portrait. Named 'The Sire', it shows an overo stallion overlooking his vivid herd. Today, this artwork is displayed at the APHA headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.

We're excited to welcome the American Paint Horse to the Breyer herd as the second release in The Ideal Series! It's a must - have for both horse breed fans and equine art lovers.
