The Queen Anne's Revenge was the famous flagship of the notorious English pirate, Blackbeard! Even though Blackbeard sailed her for less than a year, she was a powerful weapon in his plundering days. In 1718, the ship was intentionally run aground at Beaufort Inlet, Carteret County, North Carolina, in what is now the United States. In late 1996, Intersal, a private marine recovery contractor working for North Carolina, found the remains of a vessel likely to be the Queen Anne's Revenge.
